Yesterday, April 22nd, Scott Brinker with chiefmartec.com released his 2020 Marketing Technology Landscape graphic which illustrates all of the different marketing solutions by category. In 2011, the first year the MarTech Landscape was released, there were only 150 different technologies; now there are 8,000!
As expected, the number of relevant solutions increased by almost by 1,000 from last year. It is also interesting to point out that 615 platforms included in last years landscape were either acquired by other companies or went out of business, illustrating the rapid rate of change in the industry. The image below shows the rate of growth by solution category. The category with the greatest growth over the last year is data. There is an ample supply of data, the question now is how to leverage it for success.
